Mad Men - 'Waterloo' commentary

Can we really be here so soon? The past seven weeks seem to have flown by with crazy speed and during that time we've had a cracking seven episodes of this final season. We've laughed, we've cried, we've cut our nipples off.

But, alas, it's time to see goodbye to the 'Sterling Cooper Pryce is Wright' gang for another year. However, before we do, there's the small matter of dissecting episode 7 - 'Waterloo'. This week was a ridiculously packed episode, with many fleeting scenes of sheer awesomeness, so listen in as we try our best to keep up with the pace and have a good old natter about what may well be one of the best episodes the show has ever done!

'Waterloo' Commentary

We'll be back with our Mad Men podcasts for the final episodes next year, in the meantime I suggest you dance your way straight to the afterlife and back again!

The Marvel Vs DC movie mash-up- 'The Incredible Hulk' commentary

Well, we didn't like him when he was Ang Lee, so will we take to him this time?

Yep, the Mash-up is striking back this month as we cast our gaze towards the second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the semi-oddity that is 'The Incredible Hulk'. Arguably the black sheep of the Marvel family, here we have a film that had significant disputes behind the scenes involving star Ed Norton, director Louis Leterrier and the bigwigs over at Marvel who, wishing to avoid the ponderous tone of the widely criticised 2003 'Hulk', wanted to bring home a lean, action packed adventure that would reinstate the Hulk in the minds of cinema goers en masse.

So, who won in the big dispute (I think you can guess) ? Does the film shake off the shackles of the Ang Lee/Eric Bana attempt? To put it simply, is it Hulk Smash...or Hulk Gash?

Find out - with the Marvel Vs DC Movie Mash-up!

Mad Men - 'The Strategy' commentary

Boys and gals, we're almost at the day when we say goodbye to our good pals at 'Sterling Cooper Rodney and King' for yet another year - and what a (half) season it's been, densely packed and with so much to discuss we've barely been able to keep the podcast anywhere near a reasonable length!

Well, it's not letting up this week, as we were delivered another meaty treat, with the much desired emphasis on the legend that is Pete Campbell, the return of master of disguise Bob Benson and finally, finally, finally the reconciliation of Don and Peggy.

Can we start to guess where the show is going? Will Bob Benson marry Salvatore? Will Don and Peggles start a dancing agency? The only way to find out is to tune in to WHINECAST before it's too late!

WHINECAST- 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' review

We ALL know the Marvel Vs DC Movie Mash-up, right? Well, get ready for the Proper Amazing Casts Mash-up!

Yep, we've got critical darlings and box office goliaths spilling out all over the place this week, as the X-Men franchise returns to our screens with 'Days of Future Past', taking the beloved cast from the original trilogy and smashing them together with the Sex and Talent team that is the First Cast ensemble.

Combine that with the return of original director and alleged playa Bryan Singer, plus the adaptation of a much loved comics storyline and we've got the potential for something very special indeed. But can the film deliver? Is the huge cast ably serviced? Does the franchise continue its slow slog towards redemption? Will they explain why Xavier is alive?

SO many questions and, we can assure you, SOME of them will be answered in the below podcast!

WHINECAST and Goats in the Machine review 'Godzilla'!

Last weekend, something momentous happened.

The streets shook. Buildings shifted. Rubble fell. People screamed. Yes, it's true, WHINECAST's @ChrisSykes108 took a journey up to Eden Burg in The Scotch Land and joined @RJBayley of goatsinthemachine.wordpress.com to review the hulking goliath currently smashing it's way through cinemas worldwide - GODZILLA.

Yep, the king of monsters is back and this time he left Matthew Broderick at home. But is this a good thing? Does Gareth Edwards deliver the goods and bring everyone's favourite behemoth back to life for a new generation? Well, lay back, place a facemask on, do some light Smack and then drift off into a world of lizard based discussion as we start levelling some skyscrapers!

'Godzilla' Review

WARNING - because he's a right proper idiot, at the 35 minute mark, @ChrisSykes108 drops a pretty major spoiler, so watch yourself, for God's sake!

Mad Men - 'The Runaways' commentary

Holy smokes! I'm not a cigarette man, but if I was, I'd be smoking myself silly right now, trying to come to terms with a densely packed nipple of TV's Mad Men, one that's going to require a couple of well bred, well educated and well watered hombres to sit down and hash out what the nipple this all means!

We've got ourselves group sex popping off like filthy champagne, we've got pregnant nieces stinking up our nipple apartments, we've got Lou the Worst doing everything he can to retain his title of The Worst, there's Don making the biggest Don Draper Playa Move for eons and amidst all this there's an elephant in the room - an elephant that looks a lot like someone's tit in a box.

Get out while you can!

Mad Men - 'The Monolith' commentary

A wise man once said 'The times they are a-something something'. Well, he was sure right in respect to this week's episode, as nothing says Father Time better than throwing out all your creative folk (useless hippie slacker types - amirite?) and replacing them with The Matrix 9000, a computer so sophisticated it can accurately predict all the woman Don will ever sleep with.

But aside from a new technological marvel entering the corridors of 'Sterling, Cooper and Someone' we have an even more impressive arrival at the agency - Don's seething resentment! Will our plucky hero be able to swallow the Shit Sandwich put together for him by the partners, this week seasoned with a side of Peggy Superiority? Will he be able to stick to the stipulations laid out for him upon his return to the company, staying off the booze and away from clients?

No. No he won't.

But don't write off Donny D just yet, as WHINECAST charts our favourite ad man's leap onto the carousel of destiny that will either leave him standing above Lou's de-spined corpse like the Predator, or hanging around Grand Central like a high class rent boy. Which will it be? Listen in to find out!

Mad Men - 'Field Trip' commentary

Once again, we're returning to the hallowed halls of 'Sterling Cooper Draper and Friends Incorporated' for another week of advertising the shit out of all those products - and it turns out we're not the only ones!

Yes, this episode finally sees Donny D get off his ass, stop flying around the country like Jack Shepherd and decide to try and get the hell back to work, but Lou the Worst, Cutler the Ghost and basically the entire upper staff of the agency aren't gonna make it easy for our beloved Dick Whitman.

So, can Jon Hamm make basically sitting around looking increasingly frustrated into an engaging episode of television? I think you know the answer
