'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' commentary

The return of the one-inch man!

Yes, WHINE+SPACE have reached the point in our pre-Avengers retrospective where we cast our eyes back over James Gunn’s sequel to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. How will ‘Vol. 2’ shape up to its immensely popular predecessor, in retrospect? Will the LOLZ fly as thick and fast as they did in the cinema? Will we approve of the film’s focus on Starlord’s father? Will we ever verbalise that ‘unspoken thing’ that lies between us?

'Black Panther' review

WHINE+SPACE returns to the marvellous world of…um, Marvel, as we review the hotly anticipated ‘Black Panther’! The odds are stacked against old T-Dog. An episode that has to be written at top speed to replace one being ejected from the line-up. A tiny amount of time. An insignificant budget. But, like the certified wizard he is, T-Dog takes these restrictions - and delivers us something really rather special

Looking back at ‘The Last Jedi’ - and the future of Star Wars

It seems crazy to think that just a couple of months ago, we were waiting for ‘The Last Jedi’ with feverish anticipation. At this stage it feels like the head spinning events of RiRi Johnson’s film have been with us forever. The death of Snoke. Rey’s parents. Luke trying to sexually assault his nephew.

All these, and many more, left Star Wars fandom clutching our collective pearls, so WHINE+SPACE decided it was time for us to look back at the film with a bit of distance and try and get our heads around what’s next for the Star Wars saga - and what options lay in front of JJ as he embarks upon prepping 'Episode IX: Return of the JJ'
