Doctor Who - 'Twice Upon a Time' commentary

It's the end of an era!

We can scarcely believe it, but the day has finally come where we’re not only saying goodbye to our beloved Doctor, in the form of the versatile and consistently delightful Peter Capaldi, we’re also dealing with a far bigger change - we’re finally bidding adieu to Steven Moffat, who’s been running this show sincere whole damn time we’ve even been podcasting.

It’s a huge change, a huge step forward - but what of the episode in front of us? Does Capaldi get the farewell he deserves? Does Moffat do himself proud? Do we ever stop talking?

‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ commentary

Merry Christmas from WHINE+SPACE!

As you know, Christmas is traditionally associated with a time of GIFT GIVING. So, we’re making our list and checking it twice, then disregarding the list, because regardless of whether or not you’ve been naughty (murders, fraud) or nice (cakes, consensual massages) you’re getting the greatest gift of all - an all-expenses paid trip to old New York, New York!

But you won’t be alone, because we’re lumbering you with some kind of savant/psychopath/other of a child, who may or may not be inclined to perform serious acts of harm to both property and persons, all in the belief that he’s doing a ‘good deed’. Watch and weep - for you are about to witness a truly lost individual.

Happy Holidays, ya filthy animals!

'Star Wars - The Last Jedi' review

It might be time for the Jedi to end - but will this bloody podcast ever do the same?

That's right, WHINE+SPACE are back to discuss the release of (finally!) 'The Last Jedi' and we do so with all our characteristic brevity and succinctness! But can you blame us for being unable to close our mouths, when writer-directer Rian Johnson has given us SO much to talk about? To say any more would be to risk spoilers, so all that's left to do is to strap yourself in, check your hyperdrive isn't on the fritz and prepare to jump back to a galaxy far, far away. There are old friends waiting - and they've missed you.

'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' commentary

Have YOU ever wondered what rebellions are built on?

Well, it’s time to find out - as WHINE+SPACE prepare for the (holy hell it’s christmas) imminent release of ‘The Last Jedi’ with 2016’s Star Wars offering, the first in a possibly long line of anthology entries, it’s STAR WARS NUMBER EIGHT THE ROGUE ONES!

Originally pitched by everyone’s favourite photoshop creator John Knoll and somewhat directed by Gareth Edwards, ‘Rogue One’ had a rather tumultuous road to the screen, with extensive and expensive reshoots conducted around six months before its release. Would the first Star Wars anthology film fall straight out of the gate? Would the optimism of fans fresh off of ‘The Force Awakens’ be quashed? Would Kathleen Kennedy develop a taste for blood?

There’s only one way to find out!
